About the Role
As a Certified Medication Aide, you will be responsible for administering medications to residents under the supervision of licensed nurses. This critical role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians and under the supervision of licensed nurses
- Monitor residents for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to licensed nurses
- Document medication administration and resident responses in accordance with facility policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for residents
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including medication administration records and incident reports
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve resident outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in the state of Nebraska
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
