Frequently asked questions

Which healthcare jobs need no experience?

The jobs here are the ones whose own posting says no experience is required, and each row quotes it. Many are patient care tech, caregiver, medical assistant, front desk, lab and pharmacy tech jobs that train you on the job; the others are licensed jobs (nurses, imaging techs, therapists) that welcome new graduates and still need the license the posting names.

Do I need a certification for an entry-level healthcare job?

Not for all of them. Caregiver and home health aide jobs, many hospitals' patient care tech jobs, front desk and patient access jobs, and trainee jobs (medical assistant, pharmacy tech, sterile processing) train you on the job. Nursing assistant jobs usually ask for a state CNA certificate, a few weeks of training (healthcare training programs). Nurses just licensed have their own list of new grad nurse jobs.

How much do entry-level healthcare jobs pay?

The entry-level jobs open today that state an hourly rate post a median of $40.14 an hour for nurses, $20.13 an hour for cnas & pcts, $41.25 an hour for imaging, $41.33 an hour for therapy & rehab and $21.60 an hour for medical assistants (the middle of each posted range). Each posting states its own range, and many pay more after training or a certificate.
