Job Summary
Under direction of RCP/RT, assists with basic respiratory procedures and patient care, supporting the cardiopulmonary process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Second‑year student; BLS certified.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior clinical respiratory exposure preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up/monitor oxygen therapy, aerosols, airway clearance.
- Perform EKGs; clean and stock equipment.
- Assist in respiratory arrests; collect/report patient information.
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices.
- Assist with patient transfers and positioning using proper body mechanics.
- Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
