About the job
About the Position
The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for facilitating patient registration, including identification, demographic collection, financial verification, and compliance documentation. Handles co-pay collection, cash reconciliation, and emergency patient arrivals while coordinating with departments for smooth patient flow. Manages incoming calls, appointment scheduling, and ensures excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
What we are looking for:
Education and Experience:
Minimum
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or certification in a healthcare-related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in computer use required; experience with electronic health records is preferred.
Preferred
- General medical terminology.
- Insurance verification and/or patients registration experience.

Riverwood Healthcare Center is a 25-bed Critical Access hospital with three full-service clinics in Aitkin, McGregor, and Garrison. Riverwood has recently expanded its footprint in Aitkin with a state-of-the-art surgical center.
