Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Clinic. The role supports adults and geriatric patients receiving treatment for hematologic disorders and oncology-related conditions in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Responsibilities include medication administration, venous access, chemotherapy titration, monitoring, patient education, and supportive care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week; four shifts per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a variable day off. No weekend or on-call shifts are required.
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification; at least 2 years of experience; proficiency with peripheral intravenous insertions, peripheral blood draws, peripherally inserted central catheter dressing changes, medication administration by oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal routes, and intravenous access.
• Preferred Qualifications: Phlebotomy proficiency, including peripheral intravenous insertion and therapeutic blood removal; experience accessing implanted ports.
• Additional Information:
• Provides medication and injections for patients with hematologic disorders and supportive medication for oncology patients.
• Performs venous access before chemotherapy, chemotherapy titration, and monitoring and treatment of hematologic disorders.
• Supports care for patients with hematology and oncology diseases and disorders, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and solid tumors.
• Provides patient and family education, symptom management, isolation precautions, and care related to medication reactions and extravasation injuries.
• Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation and social services.
• The position primarily supports an oncology and hematology clinic, with possible rotation to other nearby clinics.
