This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll supervise and coach staff, oversee assessments and treatment planning, step in on complex cases, and help keep the program running well day to day
What you'll do
Provide documented clinical supervision to Addiction Counselors and Substance Abuse Technicians, consistent with DDAP requirements (28 Pa. Code Chapter 704).

Complete and oversee ASAM assessments and confirm placement decisions align with the 3.5 level of care.
Carry or cover a counselor's caseload when needed to keep care consistent.
Serve as a clinical resource for intake, admissions, and complex cases.

Support the Project and Facility Directors in putting state, city, and agency policies into practice.
Take part in the treatment team and clinical staff meetings.
What you need
You'll need to meet one of the following, consistent with 28 Pa. Code § 704.6:
Master's degree or higher in a related field (medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or nursing with a clinical or human services specialty), plus 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, including 1 year working directly with individuals who are chemically dependent.
Bachelor's degree in one of those fields, plus 3 years of clinical experience, including 1 year working directly with individuals who are chemically dependent.
Associate degree in one of those fields, plus 4 years of clinical experience, including 1 year working directly with individuals who are chemically dependent.
Full certification as an addictions counselor by a recognized statewide or other state's board, plus 3 years of clinical experience (including 1 year working directly with individuals who are chemically dependent) and Department-approved core curriculum training in clinical supervision.
You should also bring working knowledge of ASAM criteria, strong clinical judgment and documentation skills, and the ability to stay steady in high-pressure situations. We value initiative, de-escalation skills, ethical conduct, and a real team-first approach.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The role includes evening group supervision two days a month, one Saturday and one Sunday supervision per month, and on-call coverage as needed.
Physical requirements
