Behavioral Support Specialist (IDD / DDD)

About the job

ASG Home Care is a DDD-approved provider in New Jersey. As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you assess behavior and write and oversee behavior supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, at home and in the community.

What you will do

• Complete functional behavior assessments
• Write Behavior Support Plans that are clear, positive and proactive
• Train DSPs and families to use the plan
• Visit to observe, collect data and update the plan as needed
• Write progress notes and reports that meet DDD requirements
• Work with the person's support team, including their Support Coordinator

What you need

• Master's degree in psychology, applied behavior analysis, special education, social work, counseling or a related field (required)
• 3 or more years of experience supporting people with intellectual or developmental disabilities or behavioral needs
• An active professional license, such as BCBA, LPC or LCSW (required)
• Valid driver's license (required)
• Able to pass a criminal background check and a DDD Central Registry check
