Full-time: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No nights, weekends, or on-call required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Outpatient Cardiology will be responsible for monitoring patients and performing various cardiac tests. This role includes conducting initial patient interviews, assessing test data, and preparing studies for physician interpretation. The RN will work closely with physicians and the cardiology team to ensure accurate results and provide education to patients and their families. Moderate sedation is a significant part of this position, requiring prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform Treadmill, ETTs, and Nuclear Stress Testing.
• Conduct initial patient interviews and preliminary assessments of test data.
• Assist in monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Recognize emergency situations and respond according to protocols.
• Identify and interpret arrhythmias.
• Administer conscious sedation as required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of patient care experience with recent arrhythmia recognition and cardiology experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• Valid RN license in New York.
• BLS and ACLS certifications, provided through AHA or RQI.
