Schedule/Shift
This position requires rotating shifts: 7 pm - 7:30 am and 7 am - 7:30 pm. Travelers must be flexible as shifts may vary to meet operational needs.
Job Description
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized care for patients with complex medical conditions, including epilepsy monitoring for children and young adults up to 25 years of age. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and ensure patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Document patient care in electronic health records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and family consultations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 12 months of permanent nursing experience in PICU or similar specialty.
- Experience in epilepsy monitoring and specialized care of all ages up to 25 years.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Ohio nursing license or compact state license required.
- American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred.
