Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab Center is a recently acquired and rebranded skilled nursing facility located in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We provide long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and higher-acuity clinical services in a resident-centered environment.

Our facility serves a unique, medically complex resident population, including individuals requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and enteral nutrition through feeding tubes.

Job Summary

Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab Center is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Registered Dietitian (RD) to oversee and support the nutritional needs of our skilled nursing and long-term care residents.

A strong background in enteral nutrition and tube feeding management is essential for this position. Our facility cares for a significant population of residents with complex respiratory conditions, including ventilator-dependent and tracheostomy residents, many of whom require specialized nutritional support.

The ideal candidate will be highly comfortable assessing nutritional needs, recommending and managing tube feeding regimens, monitoring tolerance, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary clinical team to optimize resident outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for skilled nursing and long-term care residents, including those with medically complex conditions.
• Evaluate, develop, and monitor enteral nutrition (tube feeding) regimens, including formula selection, caloric and protein requirements, feeding rates, hydration needs, and nutritional supplementation.
• Monitor tube feeding tolerance, gastrointestinal complications, weight trends, hydration status, laboratory values, and overall nutritional outcomes.
• Identify residents at risk for malnutrition, unintended weight loss, dehydration, and other nutritional complications, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Develop and maintain individualized nutritional care plans consistent with resident needs, physician orders, and applicable regulations.
• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including nutritional assessments, progress notes, care plans, and MDS-related documentation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings, weight reviews, clinical discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with nursing, dietary services, MDS, therapy, admissions, and other departments to support coordinated resident care.
• Provide education and guidance to residents, families, and facility staff regarding nutritional needs, therapeutic diets, and enteral feeding.

Requirements

• Current Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
• Current Kansas dietitian license or eligibility for licensure.
• Strong knowledge of and practical experience with enteral nutrition and tube feeding management required.
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, sub-acute rehabilitation, hospital, or other clinical setting preferred.
• Familiarity with nutritional assessments, MDS documentation, care planning, and CMS requirements preferred.

Salary Range

$33-$37/hour based on experience.
