About the job
Health Services Director in Training (HSDiT) - Orange County & San Diego area
The HSDiT program is an advancement opportunity for Oakmont team members who are excelling in their Health Services role and envision a future with the company. Members are trained by department heads at the community level and gain a comprehensive understanding of how to manage a team as a Health Services Director. Once they have completed department training, they are placed at a community and work under a current Health Services Director to gain on-the-job experience. In addition to being an excellent professional development opportunity, this program provides customized leadership training to motivated individuals who are wanting to grow with Oakmont.
Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Candidates from Oakmont will need to have a minimum of six months in their current position.

- All candidates will need to have a California LVN or RN License in good standing.

Length of program
The program is anticipated to be three months depending on prior experience of the candidate. The HSDiT will not fill a budgeted position while completing the program. For example, if a community Wellness Nurse is selected for the program a replacement Wellness Nurse would be hired for that community, so the HSDiT is free to complete the program without additional responsibilities.
Assignment after program completion
The next assignment might be any of the following:
- A Health Services Director position at an Oakmont community. Some HSDiTs might be ready, depending on background and training success, to immediately step into an HSD position. In most cases the HSDiT, be placed in a stable existing property as opposed to a troubled property.
- A vacant management position in a community- example- Memory Care Director, Assisted Living Director.
- A management position in a new property especially if the candidate has had experience in a new property
- As a Floating Health Services Director in stable properties with a strong management team.
