Responsibilities

• Gives basic nursing and personal care to residents/patients assigned
• Helps residents/patients maintain or regain activities of daily living.
• Helps residents/patients with personal needs, such as eating, elimination, bathing, grooming.
• Ensures residents/patients are physically comfortable and assist them with mobility and activity needs.
• Provides physical and emotional support to residents/patients.
• Attends to residents/patients’ psychological comfort and social needs, such as by answering the call bell promptly, providing privacy, assisting with communication, and showing respect.
• Ensures a clean and safe environment for residents/patients.
• Assists the nurse with assessment and care planning, such as by taking vital signs, observing residents/ patients, and reporting and recording observations.
• Provides support services, such as transporting residents/patients or cleaning equipment.
• Takes direction from RN’s and LPNs to conduct the care plan.
• Makes observations and reports them according to facility policy.

Requirements

• Certified as a nursing assistant and in good standing with the NYS Nursing Assistant Registry
• Available to work every other weekend and alternating holidays
• Strong skills in effectively caring for residents in a calm, respectful, and patient manner
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Compensation

• Rate will be commensurate with experience.
