Salary starting at $140,000

Location: 800 Chester Pike, Sharon Hill, PA 19079

Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

Position Details

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health services to individuals. The PMHNP conducts evaluations and provides clinical interventions in a manner consistent with the philosophy, mission, and vision of the organization. This role works collaboratively with the outpatient team to provide exceptional care to those served.

Duties include

• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments to determine the patient's treatment needs.
• Collaborate with the psychiatrist to develop and implement medication treatment in outpatient setting.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as needed; monitor medication effectiveness and side effects, making adjustments as necessary.
• Coordinate care and treatment modalities with team and external providers as needed.
• Educate patients and their families about behavioral health conditions, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes using the electronic health records system ensuring compliance with documentation standards and legal regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including peer reviews and clinical audits.
• Stay current with the latest evidence-based practices in behavioral health
• Adhere to the Merakey policies and procedures, comply with code of conduct, and participate in regular supervision and development

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP with prescriptive authority
• Master’s degree in nursing with a focus on psychiatric-mental health. Licensed in State of Pennsylvania
• Experience with integrated health preferred.
• Experience in crisis intervention and outpatient treatment settings is preferred.
• Valid Child Abuse, State, Criminal, and FBI Fingerprint clearances.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and colleagues.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
