Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses
• Conduct treatment sessions under the supervision of a physical therapist, including exercises, stretches, and other interventions to promote patient mobility and strength
• Monitor patient progress, report changes or concerns to physical therapists, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatment, including progress notes, medication administration, and other relevant information
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Participate in in-service training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in physical therapy

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in physical therapy or a related field preferred
• Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Assistant licensure required
• Ability to lift, transfer, and support patients of all ages
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office
