Within Franciscan Health, our Unit Secretary provides operational support to the unit within the defined scope of practice to maintain quality of care standards. This position, also, acts as a first line customer service advocate to promote excellence in the customer experience.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Contacts consulting physicians and answer call lights.
• Place room notification (i.e. magnets, signs) for patients who are fall risks, have wounds, or on isolation precautions.
• Assist with transporting patients.
• Provide unit support by assisting with bed assignments and maintaining accurate patient locations in Epic.
• Maintain supplies and office equipment, including downtime devices, as well as logs maintenance repairs and maintenance of unit statistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year Healthcare related experience

Preferred

• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
• National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC) - National Association of Health Unit Coordinators
