In-Service Coordinator and Employee Health Nurse

Employee Health & In-Service RN or LPN

Evergreen Commons Rehabilitation and Nursing is looking for an Employee Health & In-Service RN to join our team. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading educational in-services for staff while maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee health records.

The Employee Health & In-Service RN plays an important role in ensuring staff are properly trained, competent, and prepared to provide high-quality care to our residents. This individual will oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of staff orientation, education, and competencies.

Essential Functions

• Ensures the highest degree of quality resident care through effective staff education and training.
• Maintains a safe and effective resident care environment.
• Plans, organizes, and leads staff in-services, orientation, and competency programs.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee health records and documentation.
• Assists with ensuring the facility remains compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Completes facility rounds to monitor compliance with policies, procedures, employee health requirements, and education standards.
• Assists with developing and maintaining educational materials and programs to achieve desired outcomes.
• Assists with maintaining customer service standards throughout the facility.
• Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
• Attends weekly and other department meetings as needed.
• Works collaboratively with nursing leadership and other departments to identify educational and competency needs.
• Flexes hours as needed to provide education and training to employees across all three shifts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of long-term care experience preferred.
• Current New York State RN or LPN license.
• Experience with staff education, orientation, competencies, and/or employee health preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate and committed to providing quality care to the geriatric population.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and long-term care standards preferred.
