Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Emergency Room, Lewiston, ME - The registered nurse will provide emergency care for pediatric through geriatric patients in a Level II trauma setting. The role includes triage, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, care of ventilated patients, and collaboration with specialized services for stroke care.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Day shift, 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m., 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Registered nurse; two years of experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications; experience in a non-trauma emergency department, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ventilated patient care, and triage.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
  • Emergency care is provided in a Level II trauma center with four critical care bays.
  • The patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Teleneurology services support stroke care.
  • The department serves as a chest pain center and primary stroke center.
  • Navy blue scrubs are required.
  • No call requirements are assigned.
  • Weekend time off is not guaranteed, though scheduling efforts support a fair schedule.
