Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Oncology Floor, Burbank. This role provides outpatient oncology care across four 10-hour day shifts. Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, infusion care, patient and family education, symptom management, and coordination of oncology services.

Job Details

• Schedule: Four 10-hour variable day shifts, generally scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a 30-minute meal break, for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Chemotherapy certification through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Minimum of 2 years of outpatient oncology experience.
• Travel nursing experience.
• Additional Information:
• No weekend shifts or on-call responsibilities are required.
• Float rotation may be required within the nurse’s scope of practice based on clinic needs.
• Dark blue scrubs are required.
• Clinical responsibilities may include chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, infusion pump management, central and implanted line care, port access and management, intravenous medication administration, phlebotomy, and management of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines.
• Care may involve patients with breast, colorectal, lung, prostate, ovarian, uterine, pancreatic, kidney, bladder, brain, liver, and other cancers, as well as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.
• Additional responsibilities include monitoring for extravasation, anaphylaxis, sepsis, tumor lysis syndrome, neutropenic complications, abnormal laboratory values, and other treatment-related conditions.
• Electronic medical record documentation is completed using Epic.
