About the Role & Location We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (1099 Independent Contractor) to provide individualized, one-on-one care in Charlotte, NC (Zip Code: 28213). In this role, you will work directly with a member in their home and community, providing flexible Respite care (minimum 5–10 hours per week) to support daily routines, ensure safety, and give family caregivers valuable relief.

Key Responsibilities

• Respite Support & Supervision: Provide dedicated supervision and support to ensure the member’s safety and well-being during respite hours.
• Daily Living & Engagement: Assist with routine daily tasks and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities at home or in the community.
• Goal Support & Safety: Partner with care coordinators and family members to follow care plans, adhere to safety guidelines, and maintain structured routines.
• Reliable Communication: Maintain clear and open communication regarding scheduling and member care.

Schedule & Pay Rate This 1099 Independent Contractor position pays:

• Respite Care: $15.00 per hour

Work Schedule

• Part-Time: 5–10 hours per week minimum (Flexible schedule; specific days and hours coordinated based on family needs and contractor availability).

Qualifications

• Contractor Status: Must be willing to contract as a 1099 Independent Contractor.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience: Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Transportation: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License, reliable personal vehicle, and active auto insurance (required).
• Screening: Ability to pass standard background check.
