Schedule/Shift

This position requires overnights, specifically a schedule of 4 ten-hour shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM with every other weekend coverage.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician will work within our laboratory unit in the main hospital, which supports a patient capacity of 330 beds. The technician will handle assignments across various departments, including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Microbiology.

Key responsibilities include processing specimens, performing laboratory tests, operating equipment such as Siemens Atellicas and Sysmex models, and adhering to the Meditech Expanse documentation protocol.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Perform tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Microbiology.
• Utilize laboratory equipment effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.
• Collaborate with team members to provide optimal laboratory services.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards in laboratory practices.

Required Experience

• Certification from ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent accrediting body is required.
• Prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification from a recognized body such as ASCP or AMT is mandatory.
