Job Summary
Vivo Healthcare Taylor is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with our Physical Therapy team to achieve optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient treatment plans, including exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify patient needs and goals
- Implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist
- Provide patient education and instruction on exercise techniques, proper body mechanics, and self-care strategies
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress and treatment plans
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinic operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in physical therapy assistant studies or related field preferred
- Current certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the state of Florida
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting; prior experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant or in a related healthcare field highly valued
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
