About the job
Evening Caregiver, Weekends, Sat & Sun 12-8pm, Ahwatukee Foothills
Looking for a warm, confident caregiver for weekend coverage in a quiet, beautiful private home at the base of South Mountain. Expect conversation as well as downtime during your shift, and a kind, appreciative family who are grateful for the people who care for their dad. You will also be joining an agency that invests in its caregivers with ongoing training and real support.
Application Note
This role is tied to a specific client and an immediate start. We are seeking a friendly, confident caregiver to provide safety-focused companionship for a senior male client living in the Ahwatukee Foothills. If hired, you may be eligible for additional client assignments based on your experience and availability, but please only apply to this job posting if you match this specific client’s needs. If this isn’t the right match, we’d love for you to check out our other open positions.
Schedule (PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING)
This is a Saturday and Sunday position . Our weekday shifts are already filled, so we are looking for someone who can commit to both weekend days on an ongoing basis.
- Starting schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 12-8pm (16 hours per week).
- Expected growth: We anticipate Sunday shifts will extend to roughly 10 to 12 hours (likely around 9am-9pm, though exact timing will be set once care is underway). That would bring the weekend to about 20 hours per week.
- Timeline: This increase is expected within the first 4 to 6 weeks, as rapport develops with the client and the family settles into a routine.
Please apply only if you are comfortable starting at 16 hours and are open to growing to 20 hours per weekend. We will be transparent with you as the schedule firms up, and we’ll give you as much notice as possible before any change in hours.
This is a long-term case, and continuity is the whole point. The family is building trust with one consistent weekend caregiver, so we are looking for someone who wants to be part of this client’s care for the months ahead, not someone filling in for a few weeks.
NOTE: Weekend shifts earn weekend differential pay.
Client Care Needs
The client is returning home after a recent health event and is a high fall risk. He is largely independent, and there is no cognitive decline. Your focus is safety: staying close, staying observant, and being ready to step in. Hands-on support will be needed as appropriate, but it is not extensive . There is no housekeeping in this role, as the family has housekeeping services in place. He enjoys his private home office, so expect some downtime during shifts, as well as great conversation and occasional afternoon movies, as this client enjoys sharing his favorite movies and YouTube shows with his caregiver. Confidence in cooking simple meals for dinner is a plus, as the client enjoys a home-cooked meal, but also orders dinner often.
More Than Basic Care
This client is sharp, accomplished, and values his independence and privacy. He may take a little time to warm up to having care in the home, and the right caregiver will earn his trust by being friendly and low-key. We are not looking for someone who simply fills a shift. We are looking for someone with a warm, upbeat personality who can read the room, give him space when he needs it, and stay nearby to keep him safe. Experience and confidence matter here, and the family is looking for someone polished, discreet, and comfortable in a private home.
About The Next Chapter Senior Care Solutions
We are a local, family-owned, concierge-level home care agency built on a simple belief: caregivers and clients both deserve better than the revolving door of shift-filling and task-based care that defines most of the industry. We care for the whole person, not just a task list. We specialize in longer-term and full-time client assignments, because continuity matters. For clients, it means consistent, trusted support. For caregivers, it means consistent communication, real relationships, and work that feels meaningful.
We take matching seriously. You won't be sent where you're not the right fit, and we won't place a client with someone who isn't ready for their specific needs.
