About the job
Summary
Performs high level scheduling for specialized outpatient and inpatient surgeries/procedures. Position is responsible for the collection of clinical information/reports in preparation for all surgeries/procedures and for obtaining pre-authorizations. Position is responsible for clinical and administrative support to physicians and physician assistants/certified registered nurse practitioners, including, but not limited to, removing stitches/stables and scheduling patients.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience in surgical physician practice, which included patient scheduling.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Fundamental understanding of personal computers, familiarity with the Windows operating system and keyboard skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of cardiac terminology and procedures.
- Associates degree and/or three years of experience in patient scheduling.
- Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
- Prior experience of providing direct patient care in a cardiology office setting.
