Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistants

Sapphire Nursing at Wappingers , a premier long term skilled nursing facility located in Dutchess County, New York, has a position open for Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistants to join our growing rehab team! We are looking for individuals who desire a worthwhile career that has purpose and makes a meaningful difference in someone’s life. The Physical Therapist Assistant will be responsible for providing physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist .

Responsibilities include

• Implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist .
• Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist Assistant Job Requirements

• Associate’s degree in physical therapist assistant
• Valid New York State license
• Good organization skills
• Good communication skills
• Good written skills
• Rehab Optima experience is a plus
• New grads encouraged to apply

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy
• Valid NYS License awarded by NYS Education Department required
