What You’ll Do
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming lives by:
- Assisting patients in mastering instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), such as meal preparation and home/financial management, to ease their transition to their discharge environment.
- Providing training in functional mobility, including how to complete tasks like cooking while using ambulatory devices.
- Preparing patients and their families for community reintegration through activities like public dining and emergency response planning.
- Assessing and recommending home modifications and safety equipment to reduce barriers and ensure safe functioning upon discharge.
- Educating residents and caregivers on positioning techniques, restraint alternatives, and strategies to maintain skin integrity.
What You Bring
- A Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Successful completion of the National Certification Examination .
- 1 year of verifiable, supervised professional experience within the last 3 years.
- A valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of practice.
