Night Shift Caregiver Responsibilities

Depending on the client's needs, responsibilities may include:

  • Providing companionship and overnight supervision
  • Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
  • Helping clients safely move around their homes
  • Assisting with nighttime bathroom routines
  • Providing fall prevention and safety monitoring
  • Offering support and reassurance to clients with Alzheimer's or dementia
  • Medication reminders
  • Light housekeeping and meal preparation
  • Maintaining a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment throughout the night
