Position Summary

Sovah Health Danville is seeking a Telemetry Technician, u nder the supervision of an RN, to perform telemetry monitoring.

Essential Functions

• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Tests equipment for proper working order.
• Reports on equipment problems to supervisor.

Required Skills

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Certifications/Licenses

• Handled with Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• EMT, LPN, or Telemetry certification is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

• EMT and Certified Technician previous work experience preferred.
