Summary

JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of key responsibilities associated with medical records functions. This position will have dedicated full-time hours on Mondays at Cape Coral Hospital, the candidate will be taught how to pick up the medical record discharges, cleaning, sorting, and scanning of all documents. At least two half days will be completed at the Santa Barbara building in Cape Coral, the candidate will learn our Electronic Health Record program and complete patient mailings. This position will promote and supports availability of accurate, complete, and timely medical records. The candidate should be multi-task oriented with the ability to appropriately handle complex issues while providing excellent customer service to all. Demonstrates excellent communications skills of all types. Works to promote a spirit of teamwork within the department and organization. Assists with department coverage to include all HIM duties at all acute care facilities.

This position will have dedicated full-time hours on Mondays at Cape Coral Hospital, as well as at least two half days during the week at the Santa Barbara Professional Center in Cape Coral.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Degree or equivalent required, additional certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum one-year Medical Record Department or office experience required.

Training: May train on-the-job.

License: N/A

Other: Communication and interpersonal skills required. Broad range of computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Excellent customer service skills, ability to problem solve, ability to work independently, operate office equipment (phone, fax, and copier). Medical terminology. proficiency in HIM specific software applications.
