Kindly Direct Care is hiring a caring, dependable Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Morris County.

About This Opportunity

We’re looking for a fun, patient, and engaging DSP to support a 22-year-old young woman with autism who is nonverbal. She communicates by pointing, using her keyboard, and other nonverbal methods, and she enjoys spending time on her screen. The ideal DSP will have a fun, older-sister/mentor vibe and encourage her to explore new activities, build independence, and enjoy outings to Target, the mall, the beach, parks, and more! Responsibilities include supporting her with communication, meals, drinks, and bathroom routines as needed, while gently redirecting her toward positive, engaging activities. She has a seizure disorder managed with medication and allergies, so attentiveness and following her care guidelines are essential. We’re looking for someone caring, proactive, and creative who can build a meaningful connection with her while helping her have fun and grow in independence!

What You’ll Do

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in community outings.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

What We’re Looking For

• Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.
• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• VALID DRIVER LICENSE REQUIRED
• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday: 3:00–7:00 PM & Weekends: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

Pay: 17-21/HR

Driving on shift: REQUIRED
