Occupational Therapist/COTA

JOB SUMMARY

Assists the Registered Occupational Therapist with client related activit i es and performs delegated procedures comme nsu rate with ed uc a ti on and training. Treats c lient s with di sab ility , injury an d disease through th e u s e of cold, heat, massage , ultrasound, exerc i se, rad i ant energy, hydrotherapy and e l ectricity as ass i gned in accordance with the phy s ician 's orders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an approved school OT program
• Current l y licensed in the State of Florida as an Occupational Therapists or Occupational Therapist Assistant
• At least one year of hospital experience under the supervisio n of a Licensed Occupational Therapist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties of the Occupational Therapy Assistant include, but are not limited to:

I. Functions as a participating team member who contributes to total client care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist.

• Performs routine treatment/care, services and procedures in accordance with the Plan of Care and planned, delegated and supervised by the therapist.
• Observes, records, and reports to the supervisor conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
• Observes and reports to the Registered Occupational Therapist changes in the client's condition and level of function, results of testing, and responses to the therapeutic

program.

• Maintains clinical records, clinical notes and progress reports on each client in accordance with the Agency's documentation requirements.
• Participates in educating the patient and family and in in-service programs.
• Respects patient rights, cultural beliefs.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient/Agency information
• Adheres to all Agency Policies and Procedures including HIPPA and in in service programs provided by the agency.
