About the job

Performs technical radiographic assignments. Exercises complex skill, judgement and knowledge of the principles and methods of Radiologic Technology. Performs diagnostic radiographic studies and requested. Operates portable diagnostic radiographic equipment where needed. Performs Infection Control according to Universal Precautions. Radiologic Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to infant, neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Call may be required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Minimum

  • Radiology Technology program in AMA approved 2 year program or AAS degree in Radiologic Technology.

LICENSE:

Minimum

  • NYS license

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • certification in ARRT

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum

  • Completion of 24 month course recognized by AMA approved school in Radiology.
  • A broad background in all technical areas of Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Demonstrated competence radiographic and CT studies.
  • Must be fully competent and able to function in the full role of the Rad Tech II within the first six (6) months of employment

Preferred

  • 1-2 years experience in related radiology fields.

SKILLS

Minimum

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
  • Computer literacy required
