Job Summary
Medical Technologist (MT) – Night Shift – in an acute care hospital setting. This position involves working independently during nighttime hours in the blood bank department at a facility with over 400 beds. The role requires experienced professionals proficient in blood bank procedures, high-volume testing, and relevant software systems.
Job Details
- Position Description: CLS SJO CLINICAL LAB, 3205.750000.27307. Start time is 9:30 PM, with potential flexibility to 8:00 PM as needed.
- Required Qualifications: Valid certification (e.g., ASCP-Blood Banking or equivalent), minimum of 2 years of recent blood bank experience (within the last 2 years), and experience working in a large hospital (300+ beds). Proven proficiency with blood bank software such as Wellsky and Immucor Instrumentation is required.
- Schedule: Night shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Must have experience in a busy hospital blood bank, capable of handling up to 50 samples daily, including type/screen and crossmatch procedures. The candidate must be comfortable working independently during night hours and be flexible to work weekends and holidays as part of rotating schedule. Experience with Epic Beaker, Wellsky, and Immucor Automation is strongly preferred.
- Certifications: ASCP-Blood Banking (or equivalent), Clinical Immunohematology Science preferred.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must include responses to whether they have ever worked at a healthcare provider in a similar capacity and provide two references covering one year within the last three years.
