Job Summary

Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) specializing in complex laboratory testing across blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology. This travel assignment requires expertise with WellSky and Epic documentation, along with experience supporting Trauma Level I and Trauma Level II environments. The technologist evaluates specimens, performs testing according to established protocols, troubleshoots equipment and procedures, and maintains quality standards.

Job Details

• Schedule: Four 10-hour night shifts per week, totaling 40 hours per week, with every-other-weekend coverage.
• Required Qualifications:
• Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or certification from the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Previous travel experience.
• Extensive WellSky experience.
• Required Epic electronic documentation experience.
• Trauma Level I and Trauma Level II experience.
• Proof of Washington state license application required at submission; an active Washington license is not required at submission.
• Required influenza vaccination; medical or religious exemptions are accepted.
• Additional Information:
• Performs complex testing in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology.
• Evaluates specimens, applies testing criteria, and reviews the complete testing process to ensure accurate results.
• Monitors, screens, and troubleshoots laboratory devices, tests, and procedures.
• Recognizes testing anomalies and makes appropriate corrections to maintain quality.
• Performs blood banking procedures, specimen preparation and processing, quality assurance activities, manual differentials, urinalysis, immunoassay testing, coagulation testing, transfusion reaction workups, and molecular testing.
• Supports testing for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
