Our in-house rehabilitation team works collaboratively to help residents restore mobility, improve strength, and regain functional independence following illness, injury, or surgery. We offer a supportive, team-oriented therapy environment focused on clinical excellence.
Position Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA implements individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional performance while ensuring safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on mobility, strengthening, balance, gait training, and endurance
- Instruct patients in safe mobility techniques, transfer training, and proper use of assistive devices
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Accurately document treatment sessions and patient progress in a timely manner
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized care planning
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment
- Provide consistent per diem coverage, including availability for staff PTO, high census, weekends, or holidays
Qualifications
- Current Florida license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Experience in skilled nursing or subacute rehab preferred (new graduates welcome)
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to maintain a consistent 10–15 hours per week commitment
