Licensed Dietician - Nutritionist - Hanover, MA

Looking for a Registered Dietician to work a flexible schedule 10 hours a week!

JOB OVERVIEW

The Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) (coordinates, plans, and conducts programs to educate students and staff about nutrition and administering medical nutrition therapy. The LDN develops activities and provides advice to the Food Services Department and the Health Services Department. The LDN may work with individual students, staff members, or supervisors in order to develop diets and menus. The LDN will not be required to support enteral therapies as they are performed by nurse staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Conducts programs and training to teach students and staff about healthy eating habits.

Works with supervisory personnel in planning for the Food Services Department.

Assesses individual dietary needs by meeting with students.

Works to meet the dietary needs of students by developing an effective meal plan.

Provides nutritional information to students and staff.

Tracks student dietary needs in a database as required.

Advocates for healthful living on campus.

Interacts with parents as necessary, offering nutritional information.

Researches and remains up-to-date on food, nutrition, and food service systems.

Reports to and takes direction from program supervisor assigned by funder.

Review/discuss caseload with Aveanna’s Clinical Director once a month.

Uphold the mission and values of Aveanna and the funder.

Promotes and adheres to tenants of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Graduate of an accredited dietetics/nutrition program.

Active, unrestricted licensure as an LDN in state/jurisdiction working.

National certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as an RD or RDN.

Experience working with special needs population is highly preferred.

Background checks and other requirements as required by the State and funder (e.g., criminal history background check, child abuse clearance, First Aid-CPR certification, mandated reporter training).

Continuing Education as required by state and/or licensing/regulatory bodies.

Physical Requirements

Must have visual and hearing acuity

Must be able to travel to two or more schools on any given day.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting.

Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations.

Must be able to sufficiently reposition students and move equipment without assistance.

Language

Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English

Work Environment

Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.

Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
