Schedule/Shift

Shifts are 12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekend requirements typically every other week. There are no call requirements, but holiday availability is expected if needed.

Job Description

Join the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital's Progressive Care Unit, a specialized environment focused on the care of patients requiring close monitoring due to various cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing acute inpatient care.

Responsibilities include managing complex patient care involving medications, monitoring cardiac rhythms, as well as initiating and monitoring treatment for conditions such as acute coronary syndrome and heart failure. Familiarity with telemetry and advanced cardiac life support protocols is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, particularly those with cardiac diagnoses requiring advanced observation.
• Initiate and manage IV drips including insulin, inotropic, and antiarrhythmic therapies.
• Perform EKGs, starting IVs, and other unit-specific procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient care accurately in the EPIC system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a progressive care or similar specialty unit.

Certifications/Licensure

• Required: BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Telemetry certification preferred.
