Shifts are 12 hours long, with available options of 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, and 3p-3a. Weekend requirements are expected.

Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) at Champlain Valley Physician Hospital is a busy unit that requires Registered Nurses to provide care to both adult and pediatric patients in critical conditions. The ED is staffed with a team that includes crisis clinicians and advanced practice providers. Nurses will be responsible for managing drips, conducting EKGs, and starting IVs, and will need to provide care for boarded patients across various conditions, including psychiatric cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Manage IV medications and drips as prepared by pharmacy staff.
• Conduct EKGs and administer respiratory treatments as necessary.
• Assist with the management of boarded patients from different units.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, particularly regarding cell phone usage.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
• 1 year of experience in the Emergency Department or similar specialty preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current NY RN license, or proof of application.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (must be active) and NIHSS (must obtain before starting).
• Epic experience within the last 2 years is mandatory.
