Ameriwell Care is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to an individual with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities on weekends.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent weekend hours and meaningful work where you can make a real difference in someone’s life.
What You'll Do
As a Weekend DSP, you will provide individualized support based on the person’s needs and goals. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the individual with daily living skills and independence
- Accompanying the individual on community outings and recreational activities
- Encouraging socialization and community participation
- Assisting with shopping, errands, meals, and other daily activities
- Providing companionship and positive, person-centered support
- Assisting with personal care when needed
- Providing transportation when required for the assignment
- Following the individual’s ISP, safety guidelines, and support strategies
- Completing required service documentation and daily notes
- Maintaining consistent and reliable attendance for scheduled weekend shifts
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Dependable and committed to working scheduled weekend hours
- Compassionate, patient, and professional
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required
- Must be willing and able to complete required NJ DDD training and background-clearance requirements
