• Full Time, Day Shift

Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of referrals. Provides support to operational and billing departments regarding referral requirements and processes. Investigates proactively and retroactively scheduled appointments. Identifies incorrect and/or missing information and communicates with the responsible party.

Education, License & Cert: Minimum of GED/High School diploma required; prefer Associates degree.

Experience: Strong organizational skills and customer service skills are a must. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Prior insurance carrier terminology experience is helpful.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate referral submission and retrieval via EPIC and other electronic systems as well as the internet.
• Check scheduled appointments for required referral numbers and if missing, takes corrective action and notifies the appropriate person.
• Provides training as assigned in all aspects of referral requirements and completion to appropriate new and existing employees.
• Promptly reports payer system and or referral issues to lead and/or Supervisor.
• Answers phone calls and correspondence proving requested information for appropriate follow up.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skill for both internal and external customers.
• Maintains strict confidentiality related to patient health information in accordance with HIPAA compliance.

• Assists with and completes projects and other duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $17.00-$22.82/hr. based on experience.
