Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist Inpatient for an acute care assignment. The position provides inpatient speech-language pathology services to adult and geriatric patients, including evaluations, treatment planning, and swallowing studies. The assignment begins 01/05/2027 and requires acute care experience with competency in modified barium swallow studies.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of acute care experience.
- Stroke experience.
- Competency performing modified barium swallow studies.
- Active California license or pending California license with proof of submission.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience with required electronic charting systems.
- Preferred Qualifications: Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) certification and experience in stroke center settings.
- Additional Information: Provides care to adult and geriatric patients, with an expected daily volume of approximately 8–10 patients. The role includes bedside swallow evaluations, dysphagia treatment, patient and family education, diet modification, reassessments, and related speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing services. Two weekend shifts per month are required, scheduled on Saturday and Sunday and not necessarily during the same weekend. The assignment is scheduled from 01/05/2027 through 04/06/2027.
