Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; active nursing license; at least one year of psychiatric or behavioral health experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge experience; willingness to support unit development and assist with scheduling needs.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The position supports an acute behavioral health unit serving adults age 18 and older, including patients with dual diagnoses. Responsibilities include nursing groups, patient assessments, crisis de-escalation, medical needs, medication administration, and active participation in treatment on the unit. The unit has approximately 29 beds, with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 on days and 1:6–8 on nights. Soft and hard physical restraints and seclusion procedures may be used when clinically indicated. Phlebotomy support is available, although nurses may be asked to perform blood draws. Department orientation includes one day of general orientation and approximately three shifts of unit orientation. Weekend and holiday participation may be required, and occasional behavioral health sitter coverage on another unit may be requested.
