Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Operating Room Pediatrics - rotating operating room assignment supporting pediatric surgical care in an acute care setting. The role provides perioperative nursing support for a range of pediatric procedures, with call coverage, standby requirements, holiday rotation, and potential floating to designated pediatric units.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week; 8-hour shifts may also be assigned. Call, weekend call, holiday coverage, and afternoon rotation are required.
  • Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience; nursing license required for submission.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Operating room scrubbing experience preferred but not required.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
  • Acute care setting with Level 1 trauma designation.
  • Pediatric surgical volume of approximately 15–28 cases per day.
  • Common procedures include tonsillectomies, hypospadias repairs, rectus muscle procedures, craniotomies, cardiac procedures, and orthopedic procedures.
  • One call shift per week and 1–2 weekend call shifts may be required.
  • Mandatory standby coverage includes a 30-minute response time.
  • A two-day orientation and checklist completion are required.
  • Scrubs are provided.
  • Electronic charting is used.
