Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician - Templeton. Supports surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile fields, organizing supplies and equipment, and passing instruments, supplies, and medications during cases. The role also performs patient transport, equipment maintenance, surgical counts with a Registered Nurse, and other operating room support duties.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Two years of experience with orthopedic procedures, total joint procedures, gynecological procedures, and general surgery; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; high school education, General Educational Development (GED) credential, or equivalent.
• Preferred Qualifications: Surgery Technician certification; associate or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts consisting of 10-hour shifts and a minimum of 40 hours per week. Start times may be 6:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m.; scheduled days may vary. One night of call per week and one weekend of call per month may be required.
• Additional Information: Prepares surgical cases by checking supplies and equipment, assembling needed materials, reviewing specialty inventory, and setting up instrumentation and sterile fields. Maintains aseptic technique, labels solutions, completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with a Registered Nurse, cleans equipment and work areas, performs assigned clerical duties, and transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities.
