Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician (ORT) supports surgical procedures in a busy acute care Operating Room environment. The position assists with room staffing and break coverage across orthopedic, neurologic, spine, robotic, general, gynecologic, urologic, vascular, cardiothoracic, hepatobiliary, otolaryngology, plastic, and retinal procedures. The role requires robotics experience and flexibility for weekend, holiday, and as-needed call coverage.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of acute care surgical technician experience; robotics experience; Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), and National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certifications; community hospital experience; valid compact license in hand at submission; availability to work weekends and 3 of 5 major holidays.
- Preferred Qualifications: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification; Da Vinci XI training; total joint training.
- Additional Information: The position supports a busy Main Operating Room and outpatient surgery center. Responsibilities may include staffing operating rooms and providing break coverage. Surgical services include orthopedic, neurologic, spine, robotic, general, gynecologic, urologic, vascular, cardiothoracic, hepatobiliary, otolaryngology, plastic, retinal, cataract, and outpatient procedures. Post-shift, nighttime, weekend, and holiday call may be required based on departmental needs. The role serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
