Schedule/Shift
Day Shift: 4x10 hours (07:00 - 17:30), with 2 weekend shifts per month (Saturday and Sunday), which may not occur on the same weekend.
Job Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide evaluation and therapeutic services primarily to adult and geriatric populations. Responsibilities include conducting modified barium swallow studies, performing bedside swallow evaluations, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The SLP will also use the Epic charting system to document patient care and progress.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat individuals with speech and swallowing disorders.
- Perform modified barium swallow studies (MBS) and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations (FEES).
- Document services provided in Epic.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and assessments.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.
- Participate in patient and family education regarding dysphagia management.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience is required.
- Experience working with stroke patients is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current California state license or pending application.
- ACLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- FEES certification preferred, but not required.
- Competency in conducting modified barium swallow studies required.
