Night shift, 4x12 hours, from 18:30 to 07:00.

Job Description

The role involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical Surgical Unit. The unit maintains a daily census of approximately 30 patients and is supported by interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Pharmacy. The documentation system used is Epic.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and treatments according to established protocols.
• Manage patient care including BiPAP/CPAP, blood products, chest tubes, and colostomy/ileostomy care.
• Perform assessments and coordinate care plans for stroke and surgery patients.
• Monitor telemetry and maintain communication with remote monitoring teams.
• Assist with pre/post-operative procedures and manage surgical drains.
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of charge nurse experience.
• Experience with patient ratios of 6:1.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification.
• CPI certification preferred.
• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license required prior to start.
