6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend and holiday. No call time required.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care, performing tasks such as aerosol therapy, airway clearance, and blood gas analysis. This position includes responsibilities like endotracheal intubation and ventilator management, requiring critical thinking to optimize patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and evaluate care effectiveness.
• Administer basic respiratory care, including oxygen therapy and incentive spirometry.
• Execute critical respiratory procedures, such as endotracheal intubation and ventilator management.
• Assess patient and family learning needs, providing necessary education.
• Respond to Code-Blues and participate in Rapid Response Teams.
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team through SBAR handoffs.
• Engage in process improvement activities and perform equipment troubleshooting.

Required Experience

• Clinical experience during respiratory care training.
• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License issued by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
