Sovrano AI
Sovrano AI, a Barcelona company, has professionals evaluate AI models in their own field, remote and paid. For health professionals it ran two waitlists on 2 November 2026: Medical Expert, for holders of a medical degree (MD, MBBS or equivalent), and Healthcare Operations Expert, for people with hands-on experience in healthcare operations, administration or health policy. Both pay up to $150 an hour once a project matches your background, start with a short AI interview about your field, and are open from North America, Europe and Turkey; no project is attached to an application yet.
Employer-stated
Is Sovrano AI a legitimate company to work for?
Checked Oct 2026 against 23 sourcesYes. Founded in Barcelona in 2026 by the team that made the CareerOS careers platform, Sovrano AI, S.L. is real and pays experts and students for evaluating AI, though it has had little time to build a record of paying. Paid work is far from certain. Most open posts (Medical Expert among them) are waitlists without a project, safety panels start on a 10-hour batch, only accepted work is paid, and October 2026 brought rewritten payment rules. It pays Up to $150/hr (medical expert waitlist) (employer-stated).

What people praise
- You learn the pay before working: posts carry their rates, and safety-review panels confirm your hourly figure in writing before the paid bootcamp starts.
- There is no charge to join. According to its students page you register free with Google or email and see what a project pays before agreeing to it.
- Contractors in Kenya and Nigeria make up many of its Trustpilot reviewers, and most of them commend helpful team leads, well-written guidelines and pay arriving at month end.
What people complain about
- Writing three times about the Pitch Deck Submissions programme (once at 1 star, twice at 2), one person faulted unclear review times, slow responses and no set payment date for approved submissions.
- Two other 1-star reviews: a September 2026 writer's second week of work had gone unpaid (Sovrano promised to check), and an October writer never got the follow-up promised on a rejected deck.
- Most reviews landed in bursts (10 on 28 and 29 July 2026, partly its founding cohort; 20+ on 28 and 29 September; 6 on 20 October), so a few groups drive the score rather than years of history.
- Document submissions are a gamble: a client must accept each one before you are paid, a client silent for 30 days is treated as having rejected it, and a false declaration carries a penalty of five times the fee.
Best for: Physicians with a medical degree, plus seasoned lawyers, engineers, finance and science specialists or CBRN safety experts in North America, Europe or Turkey, wanting short AI evaluation work at a written rate. Not for: Anyone relying on steady weekly hours, whose sole bank is in one of 23 countries Sovrano cannot pay into, or who is unwilling to work without AI tools and keep project matters secret for five years after leaving.
Honest catches
- Pay here is employer-stated, not measured live from a job feed, so treat it as a benchmark rather than a guaranteed rate.

Signing up with Sovrano AI
Researched Oct 2026You can be paid for AI evaluation on Sovrano after a short sequence: create a free account at app.sovrano.ai with Google or an email address; upload a PDF CV and give a real mobile number; apply to one role and finish the screening it sets, which may be a roughly 20-minute AI video interview, an expert survey, or a brief written pitch plus a call; then sign the offer and its agreements, enter payment details and join the project's Discord before approved work earns.
Eligibility
- Physicians go in through Sovrano's medical expert waitlist (up to $150 an hour, one of 14 waitlists in all). Applicants need an MD, MBBS or similar medical degree, must live in North America, Europe or Turkey and write English fluently, and sit a short AI interview; the remaining waitlists ask in the same way for professional experience in their own field.
- Requirements differ from role to role and are steep on the safety-review panels, where nuclear, CBRN and chemical engineering reviewers need at least 3 to 4 years of field experience, C1-level English or better, and residence in the EU, the US, the UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
- Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop whose camera and microphone work: the AI interview will not run on a phone or in Firefox, Safari or Edge.
- One account each, and a genuine mobile number that receives texts, which must be verified before any contract can be accepted (VoIP services, Google Voice and landlines do not qualify).
- A CV under 2 MB saved as a PDF with selectable text; scanned images and Word files fail.
- Somewhere Sovrano can pay. It pays directly into 155 countries; for 20 others, Nigeria, Egypt and Lebanon included, it sends a link you redeem into an account held in a third country; 23, such as Russia, Iran, Venezuela and Zimbabwe, are out of reach entirely.
The sign-up steps
- 1
Register free
Sovrano's sign-up page (app.sovrano.ai/signup) takes either Google or the classic route: name, email and a password at least 8 characters long that mixes letters, numbers and special characters. A verification email follows; click its link. A second account is flagged and switched off.
- 2
Complete the profile first
Profiles missing a CV, skills or role summaries are deprioritised, Sovrano says, so finish all three before applying, and tune the skills you list toward the domain of the project you want.
- 3
Apply to one role
No account is needed to browse what is open: the list lives at app.sovrano.ai/opportunities. After you click Apply, each role shows a checklist (complete profile, any assessment it requires, a confirmation of your work authorization); applications save as you go and can be withdrawn from the dashboard.
- 4
Take the AI interview
Where the role calls for it, plan on about 20 minutes of English-language video with an AI interviewer, in Chrome, camera and microphone switched on. The Assessments tab allows as many as 3 retakes for each interview type, and free practice runs stay hidden from project leads.
- 5
Medical waitlist: wait for a project
Joining the medical waitlist commits you to nothing and involves only the AI interview, because no project is attached to it. Sovrano periodically reviews who has applied and, if a project suits your background, emails you its scope, hours and rate; it says plainly that some applicants will never be contacted.
- 6
Safety panels: the expert survey
Here you apply with a CV or LinkedIn profile, and a seat in the bootcamp depends on passing a short expert survey; Sovrano emails the shortlisted their invitation and guidelines.
- 7
Follow up if a review drags
Depending on the project, a review takes anything from a few days to 2 to 4 weeks, and updates come by email. If 4 weeks pass without a decision, send support@sovrano.ai the project's name along with the email you registered with.
- 8
Sign within the offer window
Look over the offer's pay rate, expected hours, project and start date. Accepting means three signatures (an NDA, a CIIAA covering confidentiality and inventions, and the Evaluator Agreement) plus an acknowledgement of the payout policy. Offers usually lapse within 5 to 7 days; tell support@sovrano.ai at once if yours did.
- 9
Enter payment details
Your payout account may sit in a different country from the one you live or pay tax in; just name the country where it is held. Within SEPA, money arrives as a bank transfer to the IBAN; outside it, you get a secure link to redeem into whichever account you like.
- 10
Bootcamp week
Before the bootcamp starts, join the Sovrano Discord, where batch questions get answered. On expert projects the opening week is set out in the post: Monday's bootcamp is paid, real tasks start on Tuesday, and roughly 10 hours of a first batch are due by Sunday.
- 11
Earn on accepted work
Only tasks that are complete and accepted are paid, at your offer's rate and up to its cap on hours or tasks; extra work is unpaid unless agreed in writing in advance. Submissions that miss the project's standards can be sent back for correction, paid at a reduced amount or not paid, and you may ask Sovrano to review that call.
How Sovrano screens depends on the role
Sovrano has no common entrance test. Questions from the AI interviewer shift with your background, and people on Sovrano's team then go over how you did. For the expert waitlists, the medical one among them, the interview is the whole screening; the safety-review panels follow it with a short expert survey before a paid bootcamp; and the legal case role opens with a pitch of the case you would write and an introductory call.
Format
Expect roughly 20 minutes of English video in Chrome per interview, and up to 3 retakes for each interview type. For Legal Case Study Author you send a CV or LinkedIn profile with 2 to 3 sentences on the decision scenario you would author, have a short intro call, and later, on a brief live call, walk a reviewer through a number and an assumption of their choosing.
How to prepare
- Use Chrome on a laptop or desktop, try your camera and microphone on the interview page before starting, sit somewhere quiet with your whole face in view, and consider headphones.
- Give examples from your own clinical or professional work: according to Sovrano, the interviewer judges how you reason, not only what you answer, and concise, clear replies score better than long ones.
- A free practice run is a good warm-up: it does not count, and project leads never get to see it.
- Before applying, go through a role's requirements and its Contract & Payment Terms to the end: applicants are filtered on country, field experience and C1 English, with no flexibility.
- Produce everything yourself: unless a project's guidelines allow AI tools they are banned, AI-made work goes unpaid, and the legal case role inspects file metadata.
Why people get rejected
- A post's fixed conditions not met, such as country of residence or years of experience.
- Running through all 3 retakes for one interview type; Sovrano allows no more.
- AI-written submissions: Sovrano screens for them, rejects them and may terminate the contract.
- Hearing nothing from a waitlist is not a rejection: waitlists are not openings, and Sovrano says it will not get in touch with everyone.
Tips to get accepted
- Check that a role is actually open before applying. Of the 45 posts in Sovrano's feed on 29 October 2026, 18 were open and shown on app.sovrano.ai/opportunities: 14 waitlists for experts, 3 panels reviewing safety and 1 legal case role; the remaining 27, among them all language and speech pilots and the Fall 2026 Cohort, had closed.
- Retaking an interview replaces your previous result even if the new one is worse, per the Help Center, so only retake when you expect to improve.
- Two active contracts is the most anyone may hold, and on a given project everyone shares the same rate and hour cap, so be selective.
- Confidentiality is strict: listing 'Contractor for Sovrano AI' on LinkedIn or a CV is fine, but naming a client or sharing task screenshots can get you banned for good.
- There is no phone support: email support@sovrano.ai (Monday to Saturday, Central European Time), and ask your project lead on Discord about project matters.
What isn't public
- Its payment pages disagree. Help Center payment articles (last updated 22 April 2026) describe month-end pay through Deel and note the policy is under revision, whereas the payout page (1 September 2026) and the expert terms (21 October 2026) describe Sovrano paying you itself. Who writes the invoice is also unclear: Sovrano, per the terms, but you, per the safety-review posts.
- Sovrano's pages disagree on the pay cycle. Monthly is the cycle in the expert terms and the Help Center, while job posts say monthly or upon approval, and the students page mentions 'weekly payments' as well as 'pay arrives monthly'.
- The retake rule differs by page: only your newest interview attempt counts per the Help Center, while the in-app FAQ promises your best score.
- Clients go unnamed. Sovrano describes its buyers as AI labs, robotics firms and enterprise teams, says some work runs on a partner's platform, and mentions a funding round led by b2venture with no figure; no press coverage of it turned up.
- Its own pages give two sizes for its network: 120,000+ verified evaluators in the app and on the AI companies page, 400,000+ professionals on the careers page.
- For the medical waitlist and the others, only a maximum is published ('up to $150 an hour'); a project's rate, hours and scope reach you in writing before any work.
- We could not find pass rates, a scoring method for the AI interviewer, or any detailed score breakdown.
- Counts here come from Sovrano's public job feed, the source of the roles shown at app.sovrano.ai/opportunities, as read on 29 October 2026; posts change often.

Frequently asked questions
Is Sovrano AI legitimate?
Yes.
Could Sovrano AI be a scam?
No. Sovrano AI is a real company. Nobody appears to have impersonated Sovrano so far. Only two sites are genuine, sovrano.ai and app.sovrano.ai, and every open role appears on the second. Email support@sovrano.ai for help, payroll@sovrano.ai about money and interview@sovrano.ai if an interview breaks. Its students page calls the account free, so anyone charging you for work is not Sovrano.
Does Sovrano AI really pay health professionals?
Yes. A young Barcelona company (Sovrano AI, S.L.) selling expert evaluation data to AI companies and universities. It launched in 2026, so independent worker feedback is still thin. Payouts: In euros, to an account in your name: a SEPA transfer to your IBAN inside the SEPA area, or a payout link elsewhere that can be claimed into 155 countries. Sovrano prepares your invoice for accepted tasks each month and pays it within 15 days (its expert terms, October 21, 2026). Money is paid in euros, into an account in your own name, and only for tasks completed in full and accepted. Sovrano's expert terms (updated 21 October 2026) say it draws up your invoice every month and settles it within 15 days, and you get 3 business days to contest it. SEPA-area accounts receive a bank transfer to the IBAN; accounts elsewhere, in any of 155 countries, get a secure link to redeem. Taxes are your own responsibility, and some older Help Center pages still describe Deel.
What does Sovrano AI pay per hour?
Up to $150/hr (medical expert waitlist). As stated on Sovrano's public opportunities list on November 2, 2026: its Medical Expert and Healthcare Operations Expert waitlists are 'paid up to $150 an hour' for future AI training projects, and an application is not tied to a specific project. Its expert terms (updated October 21, 2026) pay only for tasks completed and accepted, in euros, invoiced by Sovrano each month and paid within 15 days.
Is Sovrano AI worth your time next to a job in care?
Sovrano AI pays Up to $150/hr (medical expert waitlist) (employer-stated). It is remote contract work on AI beside a clinical job, not patient care, with no guaranteed hours. Worker sentiment: Trustpilot 4.5/5 (50 reviews).
How and when does Sovrano AI pay you?
In euros, to an account in your name: a SEPA transfer to your IBAN inside the SEPA area, or a payout link elsewhere that can be claimed into 155 countries. Sovrano prepares your invoice for accepted tasks each month and pays it within 15 days (its expert terms, October 21, 2026).
Is Sovrano AI patient care?
No. Sovrano AI is remote contract work on AI, not patient care: you use your professional knowledge to review and improve what AI models say. Never share identifiable patient information in the work.
Can a doctor work for Sovrano AI?
Yes, through the medical expert waitlist, provided you hold a medical degree (an MD, MBBS or similar) and are based in North America, Europe or Turkey. The process is one AI interview of about 20 minutes after applying; Sovrano writes only when a project matches, offering its scope, hours and a rate of up to $150 an hour, and it warns that not every applicant will hear back.
What are Sovrano AI's rates?
Rates are set per role. On 29 October 2026 the open posts offered as much as $150 an hour across 14 expert waitlists spanning medicine, law, finance, accounting, engineering, the sciences and software; $35 to $49 an hour for chemical, nuclear and CBRN safety reviewers; and $500 for each legal case study approved.
Which payment methods does Sovrano AI use?
In euros, sent by Sovrano: to your IBAN by bank transfer if the account sits in the SEPA area, and otherwise by a secure link you redeem into an account you pick. It pays directly into 155 countries, by link into a third-country account for 20, and into 23 not at all.
How do I get through Sovrano AI's screening interview?
With an AI interviewer, on video, for roughly 20 minutes in English, about the role you applied to; you need Chrome on a computer with camera and microphone. Sovrano says the recording serves evaluation alone and is never fed into AI model training. Expect an answer within 2 to 4 weeks; every interview type allows up to 3 retakes.
Is there a fee to join Sovrano AI?
No. The students page describes a free account opened with Google or email, and the expert terms (updated 21 October 2026) warn that neither signing up nor passing an assessment guarantees any work.
Is a Sovrano AI expert an employee?
No. The expert terms (updated 21 October 2026) treat experts as independent professionals who decide how, when and where to work within project deadlines, may serve other clients, and handle their own tax and social security in their country.
Is ChatGPT allowed for Sovrano tasks?
No, beyond the spell-checker in your browser or the platform. Machine translation and cloud writing tools like Grammarly are off limits on project work, AI may never generate, evaluate or rewrite a submission, flagged work is rejected, and repeat offenders are banned permanently.
When does Sovrano AI pay?
Monthly. Per the expert terms (updated 21 October 2026), Sovrano invoices your accepted, fully completed tasks each month and pays inside 15 days, giving you 3 business days to dispute. Three things earn nothing: tasks left unfinished, work beyond your offer's limit without prior written agreement, and AI-produced work the guidelines forbid.
