Description

The Department of Ophthalmology's Cornea & Uveitis clinic is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily clinic operations and deliver excellent patient service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform patient check-in/out
• Collect co-pays and process patient payments
• Secure authorizations and referrals
• Schedule patient appointments
• Answer calls route as needed
• Track status of patients' test or imaging

Salary Range: $27.74-39.36 Hourly

Qualifications

Required

• 1 year of administrative support experience in a healthcare, medical office, ambulatory care, or patient service environment.
• 1 year of experience with patient registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing using proper grammar and professional etiquette.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment, work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt to frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance benefits, referral processes, and authorization procedures.
• Ability to verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and communicate financial responsibilities to patients.

Preferred

• Experience in a ophthalmology practice or specialty medical office setting.
