Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hornell, New York. As an integral part of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their highest level of independence and well-being.
About the Role
As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with our occupational therapists to develop and implement rehabilitation plans that cater to the unique needs and abilities of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working in collaboration with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan that meets the resident's needs and goals
- Assisting residents in carrying out daily activities, such as dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitoring residents' performance in therapy activities and providing encouragement and support
- Teaching residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily functions
- Supervising residents' activities to ensure they are performed properly
- Reporting residents' progress to the OTR/L and accurately documenting treatments and outcomes in rehab software
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited OTA program
- Hold a current New York State OTA license
- Have experience in a long-term care setting (optional but desirable)
